We got a new oven!!!! One of the first things we made was our families famous shepherds pie.
I didn't get any photos of the process, but I'll explain the details.
5 lbs hamburger meat
2-3 lbs mashed potatoes (pre-made anyway you like them)
2 stalks celery diced
2 cans creamed corn
1 onion diced.
Salt and Pepper
Peel and make the mashed potatoes, anyway you like. We add sour cream and milk.
Saute the celery and onion, and let cool.
Put the meat and eggs in a bowl, add the sauteed mixture, add Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Mix with hands until well combined.
Put the meat mixture in a oven safe dish, and pat down. Add the ketchup, and smooth over the meat (like making meatloaf)
Bake at 400 degrees for 30min.
Take out of oven, and use a turkey baster to suck out the excess oil/fat stuff.
Pour the creamed corn on top of the meat, pour the mashed potatoes on top of that, and spread it out. Add shredded cheese on top.
Put back in the oven and bake for 20-25min or until the cheese is browning.
P.s- This makes A LOT of food. You can put it in the fridge and reheat it the next day, and you can freeze it to eat later.
